Ranchi: As per the new excise policy for allocation of liquor shops for a period of three block year the process of filling of applications has been completed by the DCs under which for 685 shops a total of 5762 applications were received.
It is estimated that once the shops are allocated for a period of three years the government will get Rs 1300 crore which is 83 percent of the target amount of Rs 1558 crore. The successful applicants of the e-lottery would have to submit 5 pc of the minimum excise revenue within 5 working days and within 15 working days submit 7.5 percent money of the annual minimum excise revenue as advance excise transportation tax. Only after the money is received the license would be issued by the DC.
It is worth mentioning that online applications were invited on jhexcise.neml. in from February 23, 2019, to March 4 till 5 pm. The department had made a total of 799 shops group for which 686 applications were received which is 86 percent of the total applications received. Through e-lottery, the allocation of the shops was made and before the online lottery, mock e lottery test was made.
The sucessful candidate would be informed through sms email. The first winner has been announced while the identity of second and third winners have been kept secret. If the first winner is not able to fulfill all criteria than in that case the second and third winners would be invited.
