Jharkhand Governor remains away from state formation day function

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais on Tuesday remained away from the main function being organised on the occasion of the 22nd state formation day at the Morhabadi Grounds of the capital. 

The Governor was present at the Airport to welcome President Droupadi Murmu who arrived on her first visit to the state and thereafter also accompanied her to Ulihatu in Khunti district which is the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. 

Jharkhand was carved out of unified Bihar on November 15, 2000. The date is also the birth anniversary of the great tribal icon and revolutionary Bhagwan Birsa Munda. 

Governor Bais was also at the Airport along with the Chief Minister and other dignitaries to see off the President who flew from Ranchi to Madhya Pradesh but despite being invited by the state government to be present in the main function the Governor decided to skip the event.
