Jharkhand geared up for 75th Independence Day Celebrations

Ranchi: The state is all geared up to celebrate the 75th Independence Day as part of which the main programme will be held at the historic Morhabadi Grounds of the capital in which Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hoist the national flag and inspect the parade.

As is a custom here Governor Ramesh Bais will participate in the Independence Day function to be held at the police lines in sub-capital city of Dumka. The different cabinet ministers of the state government will also be participating in Independence Day functions in their respective districts.

In wake of the celebrations the Ranchi Police has made elaborate security arrangements and all police stations have been kept on an alert mode. Across the district additional 2000 police jawans have been deployed while DSPs and SDPOs have been asked to intensify patrolling in their respective areas. At the main programme venue and in also other areas of the city drone cameras will be deployed to keep an eye on activities. Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha said that apart from drone cameras situations across the city will be monitored through CCTV cameras. He said that at high rise towers also forces will be positioned.

For the celebrations, the traffic police has come out with its separate set of advisories for traffic movement as part of which from 6 am in the morning till 9 pm no heavy vehicles will be allowed in the city while routes of vehicles coming from different districts to Ranchi have been also diverted and will be allowed to go to a particular point in the city.

For dignitaries and the people who would be coming to attend the Independence Day Celebrations, the district administration has issued different types of passes that they would need to carry to the venue.

In wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, the district administration has allowed an only a limited number of people to attend the programme at the venue while the old age people and children have been requested to watch the programme live on their TVs.
