Jharkhand ATS catches four arms Suppliers with 35 pistols

Ranchi: In a major crackdown against illegal arms dealing the Jharkhand Police has caught four arms suppliers from the Gaya district of Bihar and recovered 35 pistols from their possession. Briefing the press on Thursday ATS SP Prashant Anand said following a tip-off a raid was conducted in Sherghati of Gaya district. He said that the ATS was informed that one Harendra Yadav of Gaya was due to supply a huge quantity of arms to Aman Sahu and other
criminal outfits in the state.

Following the tip-off, a team was constituted which conducted raids at the bus stand in Sherghati and nabbed the four criminals identified as Mohammed Shahid Ali, Chandan Kumar, Mohammed Danish Iqbal, and Ranjan Kumar all hailing from different areas of Gaya district.

Against the arrested separate cases are registered in different police stations of the Gaya, Dhanbad, Chatra, and  Hazaribagh districts. From the criminals apart from 35 country-made pistols five mobile phones have been also recovered.
