Ranchi: The Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday was adjourned Sine-Die.
After the post-lunch Speaker Ravindranath Mahto adjourned the house Sine-Die. Before that, a special discussion over the Coronavirus situation prevailing in the state was also held in which members from ruling and opposition benches had participated.
During the three day session a total of 70 shortlisted questions, 61 starred questions and 29 non starred questions were approved out of which answers were given on 2 shortlisted questions. A total of 10 call attention motions were brought inside the house while during the zero hour 46 pieces of information were read out by the MLAs while a total of 9 bills were passed by the house.
In his concluding remarks, Speaker Ravindranath Mahto said that maximum use of this short session which was organised amid Corona scare was done however he was not hesitant to say that the time could have been utilised in a more batter manner. He said that the democratic set up even opposition can be used in a better manner.
The speaker said that by following the provisions of running the house more constructive discussion can be held which can make the executive more responsible towards the legislature. He said that people of the state elect MLAs to solve their problems and an attempt should be made to fulfill their hopes and aspirations.
He said that a special discussion was held over Coronavirus situation. He said that it was a big challenge before a small state like Jharkhand as to how the human resources can be properly utilised and they can be provided social security.
He said that during the upcoming month’s festivities of Durga Puja, Chhath, Diwali, Milad Ul Nabi would be celebrated and therefore he urged the MLAs and also the people of the state to follow the Covid-19 guidelines when they go out of their homes and wear masks and maintain social distancing.
The Speaker extended his greetings for the coming festival season after which he adjourned the house Sine-Die.
