Ranchi: In the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier, Japan defeated Chile 2-0 and reached the semi-finals.
In Pool A, Japan became the second team after Germany to enter the semi-finals.
The match was played against Japan and Chile on Tuesday.
Japan showed aggressive play and put pressure on Chile by winning a penalty corner in one minute of the match.
Japan’s Kana Urata converted the penalty into a goal to give Japan a 1-0 lead. Miyu Hasegawa scored the second goal for Japan.
Penetrating Chile’s defense, he scored a field goal in the 23rd minute of the match and made the score 2-0.
Japan dominated the rest of the match, but till the end of the match the score remained 2-0.
