Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion and joy on Monday, 26th of August at Yogoda Ashram, Ranchi. The celebration started with a special online group meditation led by Swami Vasudevananda Giri in the Morning where devotees from all over India participated.
Thereafter from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. devotees attending the program joined joyous chanting of bhajans led by Swami Amarananda Giri and Brahmachari Shambhavananda while Janmashtami puja was being performed. After the bhajans, prasad was distributed to the devotees and sannyasis present there.
This Janmashtami celebration concluded with a special 3-hour-long meditation in the evening, where Swami Amarananda read an inspiring story from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (Bhāgavata Purāṇa) and narrated an incident from the book “Mejda” recounting how Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda’s got darshan of Bhagavan Krishna.
On this occasion of Janmashtami, there was also a special eight-hour long meditation held on Sunday, 25th of August.
