JAC to conduct admission test for admission in model schools of state

Ranchi: Notification has been issued for admission in the academic year 2023 of 89 model schools running in the state. Teaching will be done in English medium in these model schools which will be non-residential. Jharkhand Academic Council will take an admission test for admission in class six of these schools. 

Forms will be filled from February 3 to February 26 to appear in the admission test. Jharkhand Academic Council has prescribed some eligibility to appear in this exam. According to this eligibility, the age of the applicant should be minimum 10 years and maximum 12 years as on 1 April 2023.

Students studying in classes 5 or 6 of any school can apply. Those students who have left their studies in class V can also appear in this exam. This exam will be taken completely free of cost. No fee will be charged for filling the examination form or for appearing in the examination.

To appear in this exam, candidates have to fill the application from the official website of JAC. After that this application will be approved by the District Education Officer. The District Education Officer will approve the application from February 4 to February 28. The admission test will be taken on 9th April. 

The online admit card for appearing in the exam will be issued on April 2. Admission in Class VI of Model School will be done on the basis of the merit list. The state’s district-level reservation policy will be followed in nomination. Merit list will be prepared at the district level. There will be an admission of 40 students in a school.

Even after the completion of the admission process on the basis of the merit list, if the seats remain vacant, then admission in those schools will be done through the school management committee through the entrance test among the children coming from that area. It has been said in the notification that at the time of admission, the reserved quota candidates will have to submit the caste certificate along with the application.

In the absence of a caste certificate at the time of application, they will have to provide caste certificate at the time of enrolment. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of admission. The Admission Test will be of 100 marks. 

The exam will be on OMR sheet. In which questions will be asked for 30 marks from English, 30 marks from Mathematics and 40 marks from Social Science.
