Bokaro: Independent MLA Saryu Rai has taken serious note of the incident of water from the fly ash pond of the Bokaro Steel Plant entering the village of Rautdih on October 8.
He said that due to the negligence of the plant officials for the second time the embankment of the fly ash pond has been broken and water has entered the village which has adversely impacted the people. He said that he would take up the issue with the National Green Tribunal.
The leader pointed that that earlier in May also the water had entered the village. Saryu Rai said that when the previous incident had taken place the plant management had assured that the incident will not take place again but despite that, the incident had taken place.
State convener of Damodar Bachao Andolan Praveen Kumar Singh said that the incident is result of the negligence of the plant management. Going forward an agitation against this will be carried out which would be led by Saryu Rai.
