ISIS Jharkhand module: Terrorist Rahul Sen alias Umar interrogated by NIA

Ranchi: NIA (National Investigation Agency) has interrogated the arrested terrorist in the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) Jharkhand module case. Ranchi’s NIA branch has interrogated terrorist Rahul Sen alias Umar for five days. 

It is noteworthy that on September 14, NIA had raided nine locations in six states to bust the ISIS Jharkhand module case. The places where NIA raided in six states included Siwan in Bihar, Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, Ludhiana in Punjab, South Goa in Goa, Yadgir in Karnataka and Mumbai in Maharashtra.

During the raid, the agency arrested Rahul Sen alias Omar alias Omar Bahadur, who was involved in a conspiracy to spread terror in the country. NIA had recovered electronic, digital devices (laptop, pen drive), many objectionable materials, a knife, a curtain and many documents related to ISIS from him.

The ISIS Jharkhand module was exposed in July this year after the arrest of Faizan, a student of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Student Faizan is originally from Lohardaga district. He came in contact with radicalized individuals associated with ISIS while living near the AMU campus. After which 23-year-old Umar was arrested from Ratlam for his active role in the terrorist conspiracy including spreading ISIS propaganda.
