India’s first Khadi Mall to developed in HEC: Raghubar

Ranchi, Jul 1: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that his government was working to bring change in the lives of the people of the state and has taken several steps so that the face of the rural villages of the state can be changed.

Addressing the ‘Karigar panchayat’ organized by Khadi Board at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium here he said that handicrafts was being accorded priority in the state. He said that people in the villages were extremely talented and so far 1.13 lakh artisans have been registered who would be trained to make goods as per the needs of the market which will be bring a change in their lives and they would be also provided markets.

The Chief Minister said that the artisans will be provided technological aid so that there can be value addition in their products. He said that by setting up rural haats, urban haats and tourism haats the artisan will be provided markets for their goods. He said that through the initiative of the Khadi Board many people have been linked with jobs in the rural areas and the board was also providing them with markets.

Mr Das announced that the state government will increase the budget allocation for Khadi Board so that more schemes can be run and announced that within 15 days land will be provided in HEC area so that the nation’s first Khadi mall can be set up. He said that Jharkhand is also suitable for honey cultivation and the Khadi Board and Mukhymantri Udaymi Board are also working in this direction.
