Indian Navy Day celebration Organised, commemorate the bombing of Karachi port during the 1971 Indo-Pak war

Ranchi: Jharkhand Naval Unit NCC Ranchi celebrated Indian Navy Day on Wednesday. As part of the program the unit organized a motorcycle rally which started from Morhabadi ground at 0800 hrs and ended at Khelgaon at 0930 hrs.

A total of 170 cadets, 15 naval soldiers and 10 retired sailors participated in this grand event. Jharkhand Navy NCC is the only naval unit of the state of Jharkhand. The unit is located at Khelgaon Society and provides training to 2100 cadets. The unit conducts water training activities at Patratu.

Lieutenant SK Awasthi, Commanding Officer of the unit, said that when the cadets were selected to participate in the Indian Navy Rally, they were full of pride and enthusiasm. India celebrates Navy Day to commemorate the bombing of Karachi port during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

The burning of Karachi proved to be a major blow to Pakistan and they were forced to surrender. The rally which started from Morhabadi reached the destination via Harmu Chowk, Radisson Blu and Kantatoli flyover. Ranchi Traffic Department provided proper support to the rally.

The program concluded with the ceremonial cake cutting and the cadets were motivated to do well in life.
