Increase in number of women in police force is symbol of female empowerment: Chief Minister

Lesligunj, Palamu: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that increasing number of female joining the police forces is a symbol of women empowerment. 

While addressing the passing out parade ceremony of India Reserve Battalion-10 (IRB) at JAP-8 Corps Complex, Lesliganj, Palamu he said that successful training of the jawans comes to an end with the passing out parade and now they are going to join as an integral part of the government. He said that the kind of hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and zeal shown by them during the entire training period is commendable and they are now expected to perform the same in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.

The Chief Minister said that every day new challenges are coming in new forms. In such a situation they should use the training they have received here to deal with these challenges. He said that they should not limit their training expand its scope and strengthen the competencies that you have acquired throughout the training period so that they can successfully discharge your responsibilities. He said that the increasing participation of women in the police force is an example of women’s empowerment.

There are 182 women constables out of 554 trainee constables whereas out of 764 trainees who successfully underwent training at the Constable Training Center at Musabani 260 are women. In this way, 442 women trainee constables in both training centers are a symbol of the fact that women are now fully ready to walk shoulder to shoulder with men.

The Chief Minister said that the training they have received here should be used in normal life. While discharging their responsibilities they should make themselves known among the common people and win their trust as this will make it easier for them to solve problems and challenges.

Principal Secretary cum Home Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka wished and encouraged the jawans for a bright future. He said that the jawans should stand in the front line with their responsibility to follow and comply with the law and rules. He said that jawans have been made efficient for all tasks by training so that they will act fast with time and circumstances.

He said that people belonging to the weak, tribal, Dalit and backward sections of the society should be ahead for cooperation and help. He said that the color of the uniform should be such that people get cooperation and their spirits remain high. Inspector General of Police Neeraj Sinha said that due to Covid-19 infection there was a disruption in the training of jawans but now they are joining the Jharkhand Police force with full promptness. Informing about the training center he said that this facility has been created in 34.50 acres.

In this corps, the work of imparting training to the jawans of the first session from the year 2012 and the second session in 2012-13 and the third session in 2017-18, apart from the basic training of the constables who have completed 10 years of service of JAP / IRB cadre till 2018-19 has been done. SPC training was given who are today discharging their duties in various districts, units and corps of the state. 

The Chief Minister rewarded the young players of Palamu by providing sports material as an incentive under community policing. He gave sports materials like football, jersey, shoe, gloves etc to each team.

On this occasion, Panki MLA Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta Manika MLA Ramchand Singh, Home Affairs and Disaster Management Department and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka, Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha, Director General of Police (Training) Anurag Gupta, Police Inspector General (Training) Priya Dubey, Regional Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajkumar Lakra and Deputy Commissioner of the District Anjaneyulu Dodde, Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha and many other police officials were present.
