Ranchi, Apr 18: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu said that in a
healthy body a healthy mind develops there the children apart from
studies should also focus on sports activities and exercise so that
they have a healthy mind and soul.
Addressing the students at Kolhan University on the occasion of
inaugurating the inert university chancellor trophy for basket ball and
archery at Tata College of Chaibasa she said that children of
Jharkhand were full of sports talent and there was need to just
provide them with encouragement.
She sad that after taking over as the Governor of the state she wanted
to make herself aware of the problems of the state. She said that she
established interaction with the people and got to know about their
problems and as a chancellor of the university asked to chalk out the
calendar of the university so that work can be taken according to
that.
She said that the youth should not only take up education for
acquiring degree but should gather quality education so that they can
perform better in this competitive era. She said that for safety and
security of the women the girls are being provided training in martial
arts. She also lauded the cooperation being extended by the Tata
Steel and Rungta Group to the university.
As part of her visit to the Chaibasa district she also visited the
Kasturba Gandhi residential school Khuntpani and collect information
regarding the facilities of education and other amenities being
provided to the students. She said that the government was committed
for the education fo the girls.
