IMA delegation demands compensation for private doctors dead fighting Coronavirus

Ranchi: A delegation of the Indian Medical Association on Friday called upon Chief Minister Hemant Soren here.

The delegation handed him a memorandum demanding that doctors and paramedical staff of the private hospitals who end by being infected while battling Coronavirus or lose their lives should be given compensation as per the government norms and they should be also accorded the status of martyrs.

IMA Secretary Shambu Prasad informed the Chief Minister that the doctors and para teachers are falling ill and so far seven doctors have lost their lives. He said that in many other states the private doctors and paramedical staff are being provided compensation therefore the state government should also take an initiative in this regard.

He said that IMA was running awareness camp in the entire state and the private doctors are also working with the state government. After listening to the delegation the Chief Minister assured to have a look at their demands.
