Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court on Friday asked several questions from the state government regarding its plans and strategies to tackle the prevailing Coronavirus situation in the state.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi while hearing a PIL through video conferencing asked questions as to why despite having good doctors, nursing staff and medical staff the condition of the state’s largest hospital RIMS was pathetic.
The court sought to know as to where the problem was as despite the medical staff working to the best of their abilities the outcome was not satisfactory. The court asked the government to tell the number vacancy for the post of doctors, nurses, and staff nurses and why no regular Director has been appointed. It also sought details over the number of posts that are sanctioned and those which are filled.
The court said that when the PILs had been filed the cases were a few hundred but now the circumstances have changed and now the cases were rapidly increasing. The court opined that pandemic does not make any difference and can infect anyone. It suggested having one or two such hospitals in the state where all modern facilities are present.
