Ranchi: Inspector General (Operations) and State Police Nodal Officer, Jharkhand, Dr. Michaelraj S, chaired a review meeting on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters auditorium to assess security preparations for the upcoming 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly by-election scheduled for November 11.
The meeting, held through video conferencing, was attended by senior police officials including Senior Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur), and other officers involved in election-related security operations.
During the review, Dr. Michaelraj directed officers to ensure that the bypoll is conducted in a fair, peaceful, and fear-free environment. He emphasized meticulous implementation of the district deployment plan and instructed officials to brief all central and state security forces before deployment.
The IG stressed on ensuring safe accommodation and transport arrangements for security personnel, preparing detailed route charts and ROPs for polling parties, and deploying adequate forces in sensitive areas. He also instructed officials to identify helipads, maintain smooth communication in remote regions, establish joint control rooms with central and state forces, and arrange for reserve and QRT units along with emergency medical facilities.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Election Cell) Dhananjay Kumar Singh, DIG (CIFF and Nodal Officer, CCL) Aradhana, Commandant Ram Mohan (CIFF), and through video conferencing, Regional DIG Anuranjan Kispotta (Chaibasa), SSP Piyush Pandey (Jamshedpur), and other senior police officers.
