Ranchi: Stating that the state government has completed all the necessary preparations for the vaccination drive Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that he hopes that the coronavirus vaccine will be a boon for the country.
Interacting at with the press at the Sadar Hospital here he said that finally the country has got a vaccine to fight coronavirus and today the vaccine has been also provided to the state and the vaccination drive has started from Sadar Hospital Ranchi. He said that India is a big country where the population is almost 125 crores. He said keeping into the account the utilisation of coronavirus vaccine all the preparations have been made by the state government in wake of the guidelines which have been issued by the central government. He said that in the first phase vaccines are being given to the doctors nurses and other frontline healthcare staff in the government hospitals of the state.
He said that from Saturday onwards the coronavirus vaccination drive has commenced in the entire state and in the 24 districts of Jharkhand in each district two vaccination centres have been set up which means overall in the state across 48 vaccination centres the vaccination work has commenced.
The Chief Minister said that the health department of the state government has prepared plans for the vaccination drive as per the directions which have been received from the centre. He said that for the last few months people were battling the pandemic and in such a scenario this vaccine is an important tool in the hands of the front line health workers. He said that in front of him healthcare workers were given the injection and all necessary precautions were followed, post the vaccination the beneficiary was kept under observation so that in case of any side effect or problem necessary help could be provided.
Hemant Soren said that it is the priority for the state government to ensure the availability of the coronavirus vaccine as per need across all the vaccination centres in the state. He said all necessary preparations have been made to ensure that these vaccination centres functions smoothly. The Chief Minister said that since the beginning of the pandemic the state government has been working with dedication to prevent its spread and even Jharkhand ranks among the top three four states in the country in the area of Corona testing facility.
Those present on the occasion also included Health Minister Banna Gupta, Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Development Commissioner KK Khandelwal, Principal secretary of health department Nitin Madan Kulkarni and others.
