High Court asked, why is there no dress code for auto and e-rickshaw drivers

Ranchi: A public interest litigation filed in the Jharkhand High Court regarding making rules for auto drivers and improving the traffic system in Ranchi was heard on Thursday.

During the hearing, the court directed the Transport Department, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, SSP and DC of Ranchi to explain why there is no dress code for auto and e-rickshaw drivers.

The court has directed to ensure that auto drivers and e-rickshaw drivers follow the dress code.

The court will now hear this case on July 4.

Srinu Ganapathy argued the matter on behalf of the state government.

Advocate Rajiv Kumar argued on behalf of the applicant.

The hearing was held in the bench of High Court judges Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Arun Kumar Rai.
