Ranchi: The World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy Yohi Shashkawa, along with his delegation, had a courtesy meeting with Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
He apprised the Chief Minister about the work being done by the World Health Organization for the control of leprosy and for the treatment and assistance of the people affected by leprosy. He appreciated the Chief Minister for the efforts being made by the State Government towards the control of leprosy and the residential colony being built for the leprosy patients.
The Chief Minister laid emphasis on the eradication of leprosy and the development of public consciousness. He assured full cooperation in this direction as well. Shashkawa urged for initiatives towards housing, employment, pension and education for the people affected by leprosy so that they can be brought into the mainstream.
