Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday to take part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, where he will present Jharkhand as a promising destination for global investment.
He was welcomed at Zurich Airport by India’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar. Accompanied by a senior official delegation, the Chief Minister is set to travel to Davos from Zurich the next day.
In a social media post, Soren said he was eager to represent Jharkhand and India at the international forum. He highlighted the WEF as a crucial platform for discussions on inclusive growth that balance economic development with environmental sustainability.
This marks Jharkhand’s first structured participation at a major global economic forum. The state government said the aim is to position Jharkhand as an “Infinite Opportunity State” and attract long-term international investments.
During the Davos meet, the Chief Minister will interact with global business leaders, multinational firms, and potential investors, with discussions focusing on sectors such as mineral-based industries, industrial infrastructure, energy transition, tourism, sustainable development, and social inclusion.
