Ranchi: The Hemant government of the state has taken a decision for the general category students. Under this, in the first phase, the government will also give bicycles to 10 thousand general category students selected in different districts. After the decision taken by the state government, around 10 thousand students have been selected in different districts.
Soon after completing the necessary processes, the amount will be sent to the students’ bank account through DBT. The government has fixed Rs 3500 for purchasing a bicycle. The government will give this amount to eighth pass students in the first phase.
Apart from this, scholarship amount will also be given by the government to the general category students. In the first phase, 1.20 lakh students of general category will get scholarships. The examination for this was conducted on 17th December. Now the final list is being prepared.
The government will provide scholarships to the selected students. For this, the government has decided to run a special scholarship scheme. Under this, a scholarship of Rs 500 per year will be given to the children of class 1 to 4, Rs 1000 to the children of class 6 to 7, Rs 1000 to the children of class 7 to 10 and Rs 2300 per year to the students of class 11th and 12th.
This amount will be sent from December to January. The process of providing scholarship under National Means cum Merit Scholarship is also in the final stage. For this, the examination was held on 17th December. Now the merit list is being prepared. Selected students get a scholarship of Rs 12,000 every year from class 9th to 12th.
To appear in the examination, it is mandatory for students to have passed class VII examination with 55 percent marks in the year 2022-23 and to be studying in class VIII in the year 2023-24. SC and ST students will be given five percent relaxation in marks.
Students whose parents’ annual income should not exceed Rs 3.50 lakh will get the benefit. The amount for purchase of bicycles has been transferred to the accounts of 4.90 lakh students of various government schools of Jharkhand through DBT.
A total of Rs 220 crore has been transferred so far. In which 8th class students of session 2020-21, 2021-22 and 22-23 are included. The amount is being deposited in the bank accounts of about 3 lakh 10 thousand remaining students of this session to buy bicycles by 29th December. A list has been sent by the DCs of all the districts for distribution of bicycles among the students studying in government schools. Including all the districts, the Welfare Department had received the list of about 8 lakh eligible beneficiary children.
Eligible children of ST, SC, BC and other categories who were studying in eighth class in the year 2020-21. Presently studying in 11th class. Similarly, there are girl students of eighth class in 2021-22 and tenth class in the current year and 8th class in 2022-23 and ninth class in the current year. Whose list has been sent to the department by the district.
