Health secretary chairs high level review meeting over rising cases of coronavirus in Ranchi

Ranchi: Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department K K Soan on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting in wake of rising cases of coronavirus especially in the capital city of Ranchi.

During the meeting discussion was held over covid testing vaccination contact tracing requirement of beds etc.

In the meeting the health secretary said that those people who are being detected positive for coronavirus their contact tracing must be done and after that all the people who have come in their contact their testing should be also done. He also directed the officials to collect the details of travel history of the covid-19 patients.

Mr Soan said that through vaccination only coronavirus can be completely defeated therefore apart from following all the necessary covid guidelines it is important that the people get themselves vaccinated.

In the meeting he also collected information regarding the requirements of beds at the covid care centre and said that on the basis of asymptomatic mild comorbid and serious patients categories people should be admitted in the hospital on priority basis.

He directed that covid testing should be done at the railway station and also at the bus stand and gave necessary instructions regarding making arrangements for sample collection. He said that in areas from where more positive cases have been reported on a priority basis in such areas vaccination should be undertaken so that the spread of the the virus can be checked.

Director NHM Ravishankar Shukla gave a detailed presentation over the present status of covid testing along with that he also detailed over arrangements of contact tracing availability of oxygen beds etc.
