HC strict over Ranchi Violence: seeks response from state government

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has sought the response of the state government over the mob violence which took place in the state capital by Friday. Hearing over a PIL filed over the issue of the bench of Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad accepted the PIL for hearing.

The PIL has been filed by social worker Pankaj Yadav through his lawyer Rajeev Kumar. In the petition it has been mentioned that anti-social elements deliberately created violence in the capital during which slogan shouting and stone-pelting also took place which was aimed at disturbing the communal fabric of the capital.

The mob also targeted many religious spots and when the rioters were stopped by the police then fire was opened on the police. It was claimed that it was a planned conspiracy therefore a probe by NIA should be ordered in the case.
