HC serious over a rape case involving pregnant blind tribal girl, directs RIMS to set medical board

Ranchi: In the case of a 19-year-old blind rape victim tribal girl seeking an abortion the Jharkhand High Court has directed the RIMS director to constitute a medical board and has sought a sealed report by September 12.

At the same time, it has directed to the state government that arrangements should be made to shift the girl to a place where she can be looked after. The court has directed to present the medical report of the girl in a sealed cover to the court on September 12.

The next hearing of the case has been fixed for September 13. The court of Justice SK Dwivedi of the High Court heard the criminal writ petition of the victim. 

A medical examination of the victim was done in the Community Health Center recently in which it was told that the victim is 28 weeks pregnant, the victim lives in Nagdi police station area. When she was a minor she was raped in the year 2018 as well the case of which is going on in the lower court.
