HC refuses bail to former minister Raja Peter

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has refused to grant bail to former minister Raja Peter.

Earlier after hearing the arguments on the bail plea of former minister Raja Peter, the High Court had kept the order reserved in the case. During the final hearing, advocate Satish Kesari had argued on behalf of the petitioner and claimed that Peter was innocent in this case. Whereas NIA advocate had contended that he was involved in the murder so he should not be given bail. A bench of the High Court chaired by Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Ratnakar Bhengra announced the verdict in the case.

On 9th July 2008 at SS High School, Bundu’s former minister and the then MLA of Tamar, Ramesh Singh Munda was invited as the chief guest. He was addressing after felicitating and awarding the students at the function.

At the same time, ultras belonging to Kundan Pahan Squad came to the school and started firing. In this Ramesh Singh Munda, his two government bodyguards Shivnath Minj, Khurshid Aalam and a student Ramdhan Patar were killed. A case was registered in the Bundu police station in this regard. The murder case was later investigated by the NIA. Name of Raja Peter came during interrogation of Kundan Pahan who had surrendered before the police.
