HC keeps order reserved over Zero Fir in MLA Cash scam case

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday kept its judgment reserved in the matter involving the registration of zero FIR against Congress legislature Rajesh Kacchap, Irfan Ansari and Naman Vixel Kongari at Argora Police Station of the state capital for accepting cash for dethroning the present state government.

Congress MLA from Bermo Anup Singh had registered the FIR in the presence at Argora police station on July 31, 2022. The FIR was registered a day after Rs 48 lakh cash was recovered from the possession of the above-mentioned MLAs in Panchla in West Bengal.

The MLAs had to face trouble due to the FIR. The matter reached the high court in October last year after MLA Kachhap filed a writ petition for quashing of the FIR.

Advocate Ranjit Kumar appearing on his behalf MLA Kachhap raised the issue of jurisdiction and raised doubt on the intention of Singh.

He also pointed out that an FIR for toppling governing is already registered at Kotwali police station in Ranchi and in the course of investigation of the same FIR matter can be probed.
