HC judge Sujit Narayan Prasad inaugurates legal literacy clubs in 72 DAV schools

Ranchi: Executive Chairman of JHALSA and Judge of High Court, Sujit Narayan Prasad, emphasized that the primary goal of the Legal Literacy Clubs is to establish these clubs even in remote areas. He stated that the state’s development cannot be achieved unless the development of remote regions is addressed. It is essential to raise awareness among the people. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad made these remarks during the online inauguration ceremony of the Legal Literacy Clubs in 72 DAV schools across the state. The event was held at JHALSA’s headquarters, Nyaya Sadan, located in Doranda.

Justice Prasad further mentioned that students, after gaining knowledge from the Legal Literacy Clubs, will educate those around them about how to protect themselves from social evils like child marriage, child labor, dowry system, human trafficking, witchcraft, and other social issues. Additionally, students will inform people about legal provisions and related punishments.

The special guest, Justice PK Srivastava of the Jharkhand High Court, said that the objective of JHALSA is to provide a platform for underprivileged children and bring them into the mainstream. During the event, JHALSA’s “Project Suraksha” was also launched. The welcome speech was delivered by JHALSA Member Secretary Kumari Ranjana Asthana, while the vote of thanks was given by JHALSA Deputy Secretary Abhishek Kumar.

Winners of various competitions were also recognized. In the painting competition, Ashutosh Kumar Gupta won the first prize, Paras Kumar Maji secured the second prize, and Sonu Kumar won the third prize. In the essay competition, Deepu Kumari bagged the first prize, Hadiya Kazmi won the second prize, and Savitri Kumari received the third prize. Additionally, several other participants including Megha Kumari, Sapna Ekka, Monica Oraon, Riya Toppo, Poonam Oraon, Muni Ekka, Nilima Tirki, Priyanka Kumari, Neetu Kumari, Shivani Kumari, Kajal Tirki, Santoshi Bek, Ellen Mitali Toppo, Sukhamanti Toppo, Monica Kachhap, Bharti Kumari, Shilpa Oraon, Reena Kumari, Sushila Oraon, and Soni Oraon were also awarded.
