Guv plants Mulbery tree at Raj Bhawan on World Environment Day

Ranchi, Jun 5: On the occasion of the World Environment Day Governor Draupadi Murmu planted a Mulbery tree at the Rajbhawan premises here.

On the occasion about 500 trees were planted inside the Raj Bhawan including many fruit bearing trees like Pomegrante, Guava etc and it was decided that soon another 1,000 fruit bearing trees would be planted.

 

Speaking on the occasion the Governor said that people should be aware towards environment protection and  preservation. She asked the people to plant trees and also encourage others to do the same so that the future generations could be given a greener planet.

 

The Governor asked the people to plant fruit bearing trees and suggested that on occasion of birthdays or others special occasions the people should plant trees . She said that in apartment the basement area should not be cemented but should be used for planting of fruit bearing trees. She said that the trees not only help to maintain the underground water level but also protect the environment.

 

Principal Secretary to the Governor, ATI DG, officials of the environment department, trainee IAS officers and school children were also present on the occasion.
