Gumla – On Saturday, Deputy Commissioner of Gumla, Ms. Prerna Dixit, officially launched Gumla’s signature fruit – the Amrapali mango – for public sale at the District Collectorate premises in Chandali.
The Amrapali mango will now be available not only in local markets across Gumla, but also at the ‘Gumla Haat’ located at the District Collectorate, offering easy access to the public.
These mangoes are grown in the remote orchard regions of Gumla and are carefully hand-picked and packed by members of women’s self-help groups. They are marketed under the ‘Palash’ brand through the Basia-Palkot Farmer Producer Company Limited, supported by JSLPS (Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society).
This initiative not only aims to provide a sustainable market for local farmers and women entrepreneurs but also seeks to give Gumla’s indigenous produce national-level recognition.
