Ranchi: Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, addressing a grand ceremony at Morhabadi Ground on Jharkhand’s 25th anniversary, described the milestone as a moment of pride, reflection, and resolve for all residents. He highlighted that the state was founded on the aspirations, struggles, and dreams of its people.
Paying tribute to freedom fighters including Birsa Munda, Sidhu-Kanhu, Neelamber-Pitamber, Phulo-Jhano, and others, the Governor said their sacrifices enriched the state’s legacy. He also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his visionary role in Jharkhand’s creation, and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing Birsa Munda’s contributions through Tribal Pride Day.
Governor Gangwar recalled the efforts of all leaders involved in the state’s formation and paid heartfelt tribute to late Jharkhand movement leader Shibu Soren. He noted that over the past 25 years, the state has made progress in education, agriculture, mining, energy, sports, and culture, and emphasized that natural resources, cultural heritage, and hardworking citizens remain Jharkhand’s greatest strengths.
Stressing the importance of planned development of religious, cultural, and natural sites to boost tourism and employment, the Governor acknowledged ongoing challenges in education, health, poverty, unemployment, and migration, but expressed confidence that public cooperation, good governance, and visionary policies could overcome them. He called on citizens to commit to building a strong, prosperous, and developed Jharkhand, and also visited an exhibition on Shibu Soren’s life and departmental stalls during the ceremony.
