Government to take care of kids orphaned due to Coronavirus: Hemant Soren

Ranchi: The state government has decided to take care of such children who have been orphaned due to Coronavirus.

Following the directions by Chief Minister Hemant Soren process has commenced to take care of such children in the state who have lost both their parents due to Covid-19. The government wants to make sure that such children do not fall prey to exploitation or human trafficking. Post the directions of the Chief Minister the Ranchi district administration like other districts has started a childcare helpline number.

Under the district welfare officer, a dedicated team has been constituted which will keep an eye on such matters being brought through the child care helpline and provide immediate assistance. Information regarding such children can be provided on the helpline number after which the team of the district administration will be providing them with protection and after collecting detailed information about the child and his requirements the district child welfare committee will take a final decision.

If a relative is ready to take care of the child then every month the person will be provided money to take care of the child and the members of the child welfare committee will conduct a survey at the homes to see whether the child is safe or not.

If there are no caretakers then the child will be taken children’s care home being operated by the government where their due care will be taken. Further, the government will provide temporary financial assistance to such children whose both parents are admitted in the hospital.

An information can be provided on Central Childline Helpline Number 1098 and the district administration has also come out with an additional number. It has been requested not to make the name public of such children and directly call on the helpline numbers.
