Government is constantly working to hone sporting talents: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that in the last twenty years there has been little effort to find the talent of the young sportspersons in the state but ever since the formation of the present state government it has continued working to hone the hidden skills of the youth from every corner of the village to the city. In his address at the closing ceremony of the State Level Chief Minister’s Invitational Football Cup Competition-2022 organized at Birsa Munda Football Stadium, Morhabadi he said that the state government is working to establish a new dimension in the field of sports.

He said that a good sports policy has been made in Jharkhand and in this sequence the Johar player portal has also been launched and the players working hard in every nook and corner of Jharkhand will get the benefit of this portal. He said that all the players will be able to get information about the policies and schemes of the state government through this portal. The data of the players of the state can be collected through the portal. By using the Johar portal the government will be able to take easy decisions to promote sports and sportspersons in Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister said that the young players of which state have amazing talent and despite the limited resources the players of state have also adorned the captaincy posts of various sports teams of the country. Amidst the limited resources, the players of our state are shining in the country and the world the Chief Minister said adding that the youth and students are constantly trying to move forward in various sports like archery, football, hockey, badminton etc.

The state government has done the work of giving wings to their efforts as many programs and competitions are being conducted by the state government in the direction of sports. A few days back, ‘Sahay’ scheme was mainly implemented in five districts of the state and in the future too, our government is preparing an action plan to organize many sports competitions, he added.

Hemant Soren said that more than 80,000 youths from across the state took part in the state-level Chief Minister’s Invitational Football Cup competition organized this time which is a big deal in the field of sports. He said that the government is making efforts to reach out to the players by going from village to village and sports grounds are being made in all the panchayats.

The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made to advance the potential and skills of our sportspersons by giving them a platform so that in the coming times and the talent of the sportspersons does not remain suppressed due to lack of policy. He said that his government is strengthening the courage and passion of the youth here.

The Chief Minister said that 5-7 players from Jharkhand are representing the hockey national team but it is ironic that the Hockey World Cup match is not being held in our state. It is the endeavor of the state government to organize World Cup matches in Jharkhand in the coming days. He said that his government is engaged in creating a different level of sports in the state and are engaged in making separate sports tracks in every village and city of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the winners and runners-up players of the men’s and women’s categories of the final match and gave best wishes for their bright future. On this occasion, the Chief Minister awarded the players, coaches and people associated with the team management of the winning and runner-up teams in the state-level Chief Minister’s Invitational Football Cup Competition-2022 and honoured the players by providing them with football kits.

On this occasion, Rural Development Minister Aalamgir Aalam, Labour Planning and Training Minister Satyanand Bhokta, MLA Deepika Pandey Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Sports Director Sarojini Lakda dignitaries and spectators including players, coaches, team management and people from different states were present.
