Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that his government was committed to bring back all the trapped workers and students for which preparations have been commenced.
Chairing a video conferencing with the MPs and MLAs of Palamu and Kolhan division he asked them to also give their suggestion in this regard. He said that the government has already appointed Nodal officers. Hemant said that all precautions have to be maintained while bringing the people back so that Coronavirus is also defeated.
He asked the elected representatives to assure the trapped workers that the state government will bring them back. He said that with the help of different social organisations his government was reaching to all the workers who are trapped in other states. He also lauded the works being done across the state by the Corona warriors including doctors, healthcare staff, policemen and Panchayati raj representatives.
The Chief Minister said that the state government was also working to create employment opportunities for the workers who will be brought back and soon the plans will be executed on the ground. He said that the government was working to come out with a new guideline for Mnrega and workers will be provided jobs in their villages.
He also assured that farmers who have sustained losses due to bad weather they would be provided compensation by the state government as an order in this regard has been given to the officials to make an assessment of the losses. Moreover, he said that the farmers are being also provided payment for paddy.
He asked the representatives to make sure that the vaccination work should not be hit during lockdown especially that of children and asked to take special care of the old people. He asked them to also create awareness among the representatives at the panchayat level so that they are present with the people when foodgrains are distributed in the villages.
He laid stress on social policing for the people who are coming back as they might be infected for them there was no need to panic as the government was fully aware. Hemant asked the representatives to inform the local administration regarding those who have come from outside so that spread of infection can be stopped.
The meeting was attended by Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Baran Mahto and different MLAs of both the regions.
