Goods train derail at Tankupa railway station, movement of several trains impacted

Koderma/Dhanbad: A Goods train derailed at Tankupa railway station on the Koderma-Gaya section of the Dhanbad Rail Division due to which movement of the trains on the up and the down section was adversely impacted.

The Goods train was going towards Gaya from Koderma during which the three wagons of the train got derailed near pole number 449/07 due to which the movement of the trains on the upline was hampered. 

As part of precautionary measures, the movement of the trains was stopped on up and down lines while rescue and relief teams were sent to the spot from Gomoh and Gaya Junctions. Railway officials said that it took nearly 12 hours to get the tracks repaired and normal movement restored in the section.

However, due to the incident train number 12321 Howrah-Mumbai Mail remained stranded at the Gomoh station for several hours. Due to the incident routes of various trains were diverted via Gomoh- Dhanbad-Pradhankhanta- Kulti-Jhajha-Patna and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay junction routes.

The routes of trains that were diverted included 13009 Howrah- Yognagri Rishikesh Doon Express, 12311 Howrah- Kalka Mail 12938 Howrah- Gandhidham Express 22307 Howrah Bikaner Express 12321 Howrah CSMT Express and 12987 Siyaldah Ajmer Super Fast Express. 

On other hand, train number 13305/13306 Dhanbad Dehri On Soan Dhanbad Intercity and 13553 Asansol Varanasi Express have been cancelled.
