GITA JAYANTI CELEBRATED AT YOGODA SATSANGA SAKHA ASHRAM, RANCHI

Ranchi- The Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), Ranchi Ashram, celebrated Gita Jayanti — the sacred anniversary commemorating the revelation of the Bhagavad Gita — with a special spiritual programme on December 30.

Gita Jayanti (observed on December 1 this year) is celebrated by millions across India and around the world as the day when Lord Krishna imparted the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The occasion serves as a reminder of the Gita’s universal and timeless message — guiding humanity toward righteous action, inner harmony, and spiritual awakening.

As part of the observance, YSS sannyasi Swami Ishwarananda Giri delivered a live-streamed online discourse in Hindi titled “Relinquishing the Fruits of Action.” Drawing from Paramahansa Yogananda’s profound commentary in God Talks With Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji expounded on verses 47 to 51 of Chapter II. He explained how the Gita teaches sincere engagement in one’s duties while remaining inwardly free from attachment to the results.

Highlighting Yoganandaji’s deep insights, Swamiji emphasized that a true yogi learns to act with enthusiasm, selflessness, and inner steadiness — recognizing that God is the ultimate Doer behind all actions. He noted Yoganandaji’s definition of yoga as “the art of proper action,” and illustrated how right attitude, devotion, and inner surrender can transform daily actions into a path toward spiritual liberation.

The programme witnessed participation from numerous devotees of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda — the founder of YSS and author of the world-renowned spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi — along with many other spiritual aspirants. Hundreds attended the event at the Ashram, while thousands joined through the live-stream on the YSS YouTube channel, reflecting the widespread reverence for the Gita’s eternal teachings.
