Giridih Police recovered Rs 1.09 crore from bus going from Gaya to Kolkata

Giridih:  As soon as the election dates were announced, the Model Code of Conduct of the Election Commission came into force across the country. Action is also underway against those who violate this. In the same sequence, Giridih police has recovered Rs 1.09 crore from the Maharani bus going from Gaya to Kolkata.

According to Sources, SP Deepak Sharma had received secret information that some people were carrying a large amount of cash in the Maharani bus going from Gaya to Kolkata. Based on the information, the police team investigated the bus at Aura in Bagodar. During this time the police caught those three persons.

Out of which about Rs 67 lakh were recovered from two persons and about Rs 42.5 lakh from one person i.e. a total of Rs 1.09 crore.All three persons are being interrogated in connection with the recovered money. SP said that from where the money was taken and where it was being prepared to be taken and who all are involved in it, investigation is going on.

The Income Tax Department will also be informed about this. He said that the Model Code of Conduct is in force regarding elections and there is a ban on carrying more than Rs 50 thousand in cash.
