Four youths raped a 12-year-old girl at knife point in Ranchi

Ranchi: A case of gang rape of a 12-year-old girl has come to light in the Sadar police station area of the capital. The police have arrested the four accused including Shubham Kumar Paswan, a resident of Subhash Chowk in Kokar, and Chetan Kumar Singh of Tunki group. Two of these accused are minors.

The relatives of the victim lodged a case at the Sadar police station on Friday. They said on Thursday evening the girl was playing near the house. At the same time, the four accused caught hold of her and took her behind Kokar’s Devi Mandap, and raped her at knifepoint. After the rape, the accused threatened that if they told anyone, the consequences would not be right. 

When the girl did not return home on Thursday, Family members started searching for her. At three o’clock in the day, a boy from the neighbourhood saw her with three boys and informed the family. The girl was scared. First, she told that she had gone to the birthday party. But when he was strictly questioned, she said that four youths had raped her.

All four accused had fled after the incident. After registering the FIR, the police raided overnight and arrested the four. The police have sent Shubham and Chetan to jail and both the minor accused to remand home.
