Ranchi: Self Immolation threatened youths arrested before arrival of PM Modi to Jharkhand on Tuesday evening. Here, the tribal Sengel campaign has demanded recognition of the Sarna religious code.
Four activists of Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan have threatened that if PM Narendra Modi does not announce recognition of Sarna Code for tribals during his visit to Jharkhand, they will go to Lord Birsa Munda’s village Ulihatu and commit suicide.
All these four people have been taken into custody by the police even before PM Modi came to Jharkhand. Those arrested by the police include Chandra Mohan Mardi, Prithvi Murmu, Vikram Hembram and Kanhuram Tudu.
Kanhu Ram Tudu is a resident of Sonuva block of West Singhbhum district, while Vikram Hembram and Prithvi Murmu are residents of Baghbeda Jata Jhopri in East Singhbhum and Chandramohan Mardi is a resident of Petarwar in Bokaro.
