Foundation laid to build Statue of Ulgulan

Ranchi, Jun 9: Former deputy chief minister and convener of the Ulgulan Foundation Sudesh Mahto said that Birsa Munda was not only a mega hero but he is also a thought and an ideology whose thinking cana not be allowed to go away at any cost.

 

Addressing teh function organised on the occasion of foundation laying of Statue of Ulgulan at Pradhan Nagar Bundu he said that the people of Jharkahnd are grappling with many challenges and in these tough times the relevance of Ulgulan of Birsa has become more relevant. He said that despite the statue being just 150 feet tall the scarifices and his stories are more valuable due to which the people of Jharkhand are still waiting for him to return. He said that people of the state are worried about the Jal Jungle and Zameen of Jharkhand and said that to make the people of the world know about the heroes of Jharkhand there was a need for such initiatives and urged everyone to cooperate in this cause.

 

Earlier before the foundation laying traditional rituals were performed at the spot which was conducted by the persists of Diuri temple and Pahans and Gram Pradhans of Ranchi Saraikela East and West Singhbhum and Ramgarh districts. The soil which was brought from Birsa Munda’s Samadhi from Ranchi was also used in the foundation laying. In function thousands of people clad in their traditional attire participated.

 

Addressing the people AJSU MLA Ramchandra Sahis said that amendments in the CNT and SPT acts would never be allowed. He said that teh tribals and the moolvasis were fighting fo rtheir surviavl in the state and in such tough times Sudesh Mahto has started a fight for teh cause of the people of the state.
