Forest Ranger of Manoharpur caught taking bribe by ACB, Nearly Rs 1 cr in cash found

Chaibasa: In a major success for the Anti Corruption Bureau the Forest Ranger of the Manoharpur area along with his computer operator have been arrested while accepting a bribe and during the search cash worth nearly Rs one crore has been recovered from them.

The arrested have been identified as Vijay Kumar the forest ranger of Manoharpur Koyana Area and his computer operator Manish Poddar.

From the government accommodation of the officer, a huge amount of cash was recovered. A complaint against the ranger was registered by one Ganesh Pramanik in which he had claimed that the ranger had demanded a bribe of Rs 2500 so that he could take his old bed to Jamshedpur.

Post the verification of the complaint a trap was laid and the duo were caught. ACB DSP S Tirkey who led the operations said ghat cash worth Rs 99,02,540 have been recovered from the government accommodation of the ranger. Later the duo were taken away to Jamshedpur.
