Foreign citizens living illegally in Jharkhand to be marked, meeting to be held under the chairmanship of DGP on Monday

Ranchi:  Foreign citizens living illegally in Jharkhand will be identified. Regarding this, a review meeting will be held with the SSPs and SPs of all the districts on Monday (January 29) under the chairmanship of DGP Ajay Kumar Singh.

During this, issues like use of District Police Module by the district, use of Foreigner Registration Portal by the district, illegal immigrants and overstay of foreigners will be discussed. Jharkhand Police Headquarters had sent a report to the Home Department regarding the needs of NRC and the increasing influence of Bangladeshis.

It was mentioned in the report that Bangladeshi citizens are taking refuge in Jharkhand via Bihar and Bengal. The number of illegal immigrants in Jharkhand is said to be 10-15 lakh. The growing population of illegal immigrants’ poses cultural and security threats.

Most of the Bangladeshis are also reaching here via Malda and Murshidabad of Bengal. Most of the Bangladeshis in Jharkhand come from Farakka, Udhwa, Piyarpur, Begumganj, Fudkalpur, Amanth, Sridhar, Diara, Belugram, Chandshahr, Pranpur.

It is mentioned in the report that crime and anti-national activities have increased due to the arrival of Bangladeshis. According to the report, illegal immigrants have even got Voter ID, Aadhaar card, and driving license made. Foreign nationals have illegally occupied the land of Udhwa Word Sanctuary and Forest Department. Banned organizations like Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh and Popular Front of India have a strong hold in these areas.
