Following instructions of Chief Minister, significant work being done towards the improvement of health, education, drinking water and social security

Ranchi: Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the last two and a half years, continuous development work is happening at a great pace.

The residents of the state have suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic for almost two years. Even then, the work of securing both life and livelihood was successfully done by the state government, which won appreciation across the country for its efficient and people-centric approach. During all this, the government paid great attention to development, as a result of which various welfare schemes could come to fruition in the state’s Southern Chhotanagpur Division, Ranchi. There are a total 94 hostels under South Chotanagpur Division Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti and Simdega districts.

Following the instructions of the Chief Minister work was started after the information was received about the condition of the hostels. At present, the repair /renovation work of 4 Kalyan hostels has been completed and repair work of 13 Kalyan hostels is in progress. After assessing the needs further, the government is working on an action plan for the construction of new hostels.

In the Ranchi district of South Chotanagpur Division, Ranchi, against the total set goal of 79388 meters of a thick pipeline, the target of 77897 meters has been achieved. Similarly, against the total target of 235643 meters of thin pipeline, the target of 233955 meters has been completed.

The target of 19000 against the total target of 50000 has been achieved for household drinking water supply connections. Under the operational Nal Se Jal Yojana, a target of 33144 has been completed against the total target of 182088 at the household level in the Gumla district. Similarly, for the Simdega district, 39918 connections have been completed against the total set target of 81995, under the functional Nal se Jal Yojana at the household level.

A total of 58253 beneficiaries have been benefited under Ayushman Bharat in the Ranchi district of South Chotanagpur division, on which Rs 25.92 crore has been spent. In the Ranchi district itself, Rs 2.37 crore has been spent against the total allocation of Rs 3 crore under the Mukhyamantri Gambhir Bimari Upchar Yojana, which caters to 71 diseases.

Similarly, under the Ayushman Bharat in Gumla 10898 beneficiaries have made claims for which 6.72 crore has been paid. In the Gumla district itself, Rs 46.64 lakh has been spent against the total allocation of 1.5 crores under the Mukhyamantri Gambhir  Bimari Upchar Yojana which covers 14 diseases under its ambit.

A total of 80 model schools have been identified in the South Chotanagpur division, Ranchi, out of which work of 5 model schools has been completed in the Ranchi district and 2 model schools are under progress. Under the Social Security Scheme, a total of 29588 beneficiaries in Ranchi, 97107 beneficiaries in Gumla district, 28704 beneficiaries in Lohardaga district, and 153198 beneficiaries in Simdega district and 134531 of the Khunti district are being provided with pensions.
