Fodder Scam: Special CBI Court to announce sentencing for Lalu Yadav on Monday

Ranchi: A special court of the CBI court is going to sentence Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and 37 others on Monday in connection with Doranda Treasury Case of the Fodder Scam. Special CBI Judge SK Shashi will announce the punishment for the culprits after the hearing on the fraudulent withdrawal of money from the Doranda treasury in the fodder scam case ended on Feb 15. The entire proceeding of the court will be done through video conferencing. Birsa Munda Central Jail Administration has completed preparations for conducting the video conferencing.

Video conferencing is being arranged for the RJD supremo in the paying ward of RIMS itself. The sentencing hearing is scheduled to begin at 12 noon. Even before this, the process of transporting laptops to the paying ward
will be completed by the jail administration. In this case, video conferencing has  been arranged in Hotwar Jail for the other accused. All the convicts will hear their verdict on a big LED screen. There should not be any technical problem for this preparations were finalized despite the holiday on Sunday.

Jail Superintendent Hamid Akhtar told the media that on the orders of the court, the system of video conferencing is being ensured. All the accused will attend the video conferencing in time and its preparation has been completed. The security arrangements of the paying ward are being reviewed and if there is any problem it will be rectified in time, he said.
