Fodder Scam: Sentencing of Lalu Yadav deferred for yet another day

Ranchi, Jan 4: The sentencing of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD
supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in a case number RC 64A/96 which is related
to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.4 crore from the Deoghar Treasury of
unified Bihar was yet again deferred on Wednesday.

The court of special CBI judge Shivpal Singh deferred the sentencing
as he decided that he would be taking up the procedure of sentencing
in an alphabetical manner in which for today convicts whose named
featured between alphabets A-K were taken up. In the court room the
lawyers of the following 5 accused Bake Julius, Gopinath Das, Jyoti
Kumar Jha, Jagdish Sharma and Krishna Kumar Das presented their
arguments before the court over the quantum of punishment during the
day.

On Friday the lawyers of other 11 convicts which also included Mr
Yadav would be presenting their arguments and once the entire
procedure is complete the judge would be announcing the punishment for
all the 16 accused.
