First tribal minister of unified Bihar Shayamu Charan Tubid dead

Ranchi Jul 19: First tribal minister of unified Bihar, freedom fighter
and close associate of Batukeshwar Dutt and Vinoba Bhave Shaymu Charan
Tubid breathed his last on Thursday in Ranchi.
Tubid was 98. He died at 3 am in the morning at Medica Hospital. His
body was later taken to Chaibasa were his last rites would be
performed with full state honours at 10.30 am on Friday.
Shaymau Charan had mislead the Britishers during the Quit India
movement and reached Ranchi from Patna on his foot. Despite being ill
he never use to forget to hoist the tri-colour on August 15, His son
JB Tubid and daughter-in-law Rajbala Verma have both retired as Chief
Secretary of Jharkhand while at the present JB Tubid was also the
spokesperson of the Jharkhand BJP.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das has expressed grief over the death of
Shayamu Charan Tubid and has directed that his last rites be
performed with full state honours. Cabinet minister Neelkanth Singh
Munda and party MLA Laxman Tudu will also be participating in his last
rites. Former Chief Minister and State BJP president Laxman Giluwa
have also expressed grief over the death of great freedom fighter and
described him as a honour of Kolhan region. Several other BJP leaders
have also expressed their grief on his demise.
