Finance Minister pays obeisance at Jagannathpur temple, reviews preparations for Rath Mela

Ranchi: Jharkhand’s Finance and Food Supply Minister Rameshwar Oraon on Sunday offered prayers at the Jagannathpur Temple located in Dhurwa of the capital and reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Rath Mela.Paswa State President Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo Dr Rajesh Gupta Chhotu and others were present on this occasion.

Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that due to the corona the Rath Mela could not be organized grandly for two to three years, but this time the Rath Mela should be organized with old tradition and grandeur and the government has given all necessary cooperation for this.

Dr Oraon said that the Rath Yatra has religious importance as well as social and cultural importance. Lakhs of devotees come for the Rath Yatra on June 20. On the occasion, Minister Rameshwar Oraon also reviewed the work being done regarding the preparations for the Rath Mela. He said that for the first time he participated in the Jagannath Rath Yatra in 1974, after that he kept getting the opportunity to come here on many occasions and in the marriage ceremony of acquaintances.

He prayed to Lord Jagannath, brother Balarama and sister Subhadra for the prosperity of the people of the state. At the same time prayed for the better life and economic strength of the people and the end of poverty. After the worship, Minister Rameshwar Oraon also met the local artisans engaged in the preparation of the Rath Yatra and also took photographs with the chariot and assured them of all possible help and also expressed satisfaction over the work of the chariot being constructed.

Paswa State President Alok Kumar Dubey said that he has been participating in the Rath Yatra every time, but due to Corona, the Rath Yatra did not take place for the last two years, due to which there was disappointment among the people but this time everyone is excited.
