Ranchi: The Municipal Corporation’s enforcement team conducted a campaign to remove encroachments from Shahid Chowk to Sarjana Chowk on Friday. During this period, more than 20 shops were removed from the road. Whereas 29 shops were asked to keep the goods inside.
Corporation employees present on the spot told that some local shopkeepers are encroaching on the footpath and the road and decorating their shops. Due to which there is traffic problem on this road throughout the day. Keeping in view the problems of the people, we have started this drive.
Traffic problem from Shahid Chowk to Sarjana Chowk has been going on for years. Municipal corporation officials have been running such drives for the last several years, but none of the problems have been solved.
On the one hand, the officials get the shops removed from the road, on the other hand as soon as they leave the market gets decorated again. All concerned authorities have been informed about this problem. But because of local leaders, any officer avoids taking concrete action.
