Chatra: Two policemen were martyred in the encounter between Naxalites and police. Meanwhile, a bleeding policeman has been taken to the hospital. The names of the martyred soldiers are said to be Sikandar Singh and Sikan, while the name of the injured soldier is said to be Akash Singh. This encounter took place in Berio forest of Juri Berio police station area of Chatra.
After the encounter, the police entered the forest with additional force and are conducting intensive raids in search of Naxalites. Bullets are being fired intermittently from both sides. Police claim that some Naxalites were also shot in the encounter.
It is reported that the Naxalites started firing as soon as they saw the police who were out on patrol. Two soldiers were martyred in this.
