Eight lakh students to appear in matriculation and inter examination across 1400 centers from Tuesday

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council will start the matriculation and intermediate examinations from March 14. Nearly eight lakh students will appear in the matriculation and intermediate exams this year. These include 4.50 lakh matriculation and 3.50 lakh intermediate candidates.

For this 1400 examination centers have been set up across the state. A total of 159 examination centers have been set up in Ranchi. These include 102 examination centers for matriculation and 57 for intermediate. Around 82000 students of Ranchi will appear in the exam. 

This time matriculation and intermediate exam will be taken in both OMR sheet and answer sheet. Both the exams will be of 40-40 marks. Rest 20 marks will be practical which will be taken in the respective schools.

The matriculation exam will be held in the first shift and in the second shift, there will be an intermediate exam. The matriculation examination will run from March 14 to April 3. Inter exams will start from March 14 and will continue till April 5. The first shift exam will run from 9:45 am to 1:5 pm. The Inter exam will run from 2 pm to 5:20 pm.

Students will be given 3 hours to write the answers. The remaining 15 to 20 minutes will be given for reading the questions. On the other hand, the pre-scheduled exam date of March 24 has been changed.

The matriculation examination to be held on March 24 will now be held on March 25 whereas the Inter exam will be held on 5th April. This date has been changed regarding the Sarhul festival in Jharkhand.
